QUICK START

How to use Excel to CSV

  1. Open the XLSX file and select the worksheet containing the data.
  2. Choose a delimiter, confirm the header setting and keep spreadsheet-safe CSV enabled for untrusted content.
  3. Preview leading zeros, dates and long identifiers. Download the CSV and import it with explicit column types in your spreadsheet application.
BEFORE YOU BEGIN

What to expect

Read an XLSX workbook and export the selected worksheet as CSV. CSV stores values, not styles, charts, multiple sheets or formulas. Formula cells use cached results saved by the spreadsheet application; this tool does not recalculate. Limits: 10 MB per file, 25 MB total, 20,000 rows, 200 columns and 100,000 cells.

Local processing

Your files and inputs are processed in your browser and are not uploaded. Download or copy results before leaving. Normal site and library requests still reach the hosting service.

HELP & TROUBLESHOOTING

Frequently asked questions

Why did an account number lose its leading zeros?

If the source stores a number with display formatting, the underlying value has no leading zeros. Store identifiers as text before export. On reimport, choose Text as the column type to prevent automatic conversion.

Can CSV contain multiple worksheets?

No. Export each sheet separately or retain XLSX. Batch mode exports the first visible worksheet of each file.

Why does spreadsheet-safe CSV add an apostrophe?

Cells that resemble formulas can execute when opened by spreadsheet software. The safe option prefixes risky text. Review this tradeoff before disabling the protection for trusted data.

Are my files uploaded?

Your files are processed locally in your browser and are not uploaded. Download the result before closing the page; normal website and processing-library requests still reach the hosting service.
