How to use JSON to Excel
- Load JSON files or inspect pasted JSON. Choose the records array for each source; reorder files before loading when combining API pages.
- Choose combined or separate sheets, duplicate handling, and JSON text, flattened columns, linked sheets or parent–child rows. Enable source columns when you need traceability.
- Preview merged data, inspect every sheet and its row counts, then convert and download the XLSX workbook.
What to expect
Import up to 10 JSON or TXT files (10 MB each, 25 MB total), or paste JSON. Select a root array or an array inside an object using its JSON Pointer path. Output is limited to 20,000 rows, 200 columns, 100,000 cells and 30 sheets. Values remain data; strings are not executed as formulas.

Frequently asked questions
Which mode should I choose for nested data?
JSON text cells preserve nested structures as text. Flattening expands indexed paths and can create many columns. Linked sheets split direct child arrays into sheets with parent IDs; nested objects remain JSON text. Parent–child rows use the same IDs but keep children beneath their parent.
How are duplicates detected?
Exact JSON representations are compared across selected records and sources. The first match is kept. Objects with different key order are treated as different records; this is not a business-key merge.
What is included in source tracking?
Optional __aeft_sourceFile and __aeft_sourcePage fields identify the source filename and its import order. Source Summary lists detected and included record counts. The __aeft_ prefix is reserved. These values are added to the downloaded file, not sent to a server.
Does converting back recreate the original nested JSON?
No. Excel to JSON exports worksheet values. It does not automatically rebuild nested structures from flattened paths, parent IDs or JSON text cells. Keep the original JSON.

Your files are processed locally in your browser and are not uploaded. Download the result before closing the page; normal website and processing-library requests still reach the hosting service.
